“Holland at its very best with clog making, cheese
shops and windmills...”

Amsterdam canal
This holiday showcases ‘traditional’ Holland and includes some fabulous excursions. Your base is in Delft and here you will have the opportunity to see the fascinating process of creating the world-famous blue delft ceramics. We include a visit to The Hague, home of the Dutch Royal Family and the seat of government. The city of Amsterdam offers something for every traveller including impressive architecture, pretty canals that criss-cross the city, and some really great shopping. Take the opportunity of a canal cruise as you relax and take in the pleasures of this fascinating city from a glassed topped boat. Our fourth day is a traditional Holland day. We travel north and visit several pretty villages to see local traditions such as clog and cheesemaking. We first travel to the well loved city of Alkmaar, famous for it’s cheese market, then to the pretty windmill village of Zaansche Schans, before continuing to the waterside village of Volendam, where you will have time to enjoy the picturesque harbour and old-fashioned shops, as well as have a spot of lunch. We continue to Monnickendam with optional visits to a local clog making
and cheese making factory (admission payable locally). A taste of Belgium is available on your fifth day with an included sightseeing excursion is to Bruges.
You will stay for four nights at a comfortable hotel, such as, or similar to, the Hotel Campanile in Delft. All hotels used have well-furnished en-suite bedrooms as well as a comfortable bar and a dining room where breakfast will be included throughout your stay.
